When we first looked at this house with our realtor there was so much stuff in the basement (ie, the lady was a full on hoarder) that we didn't even know there was a roughed in bathroom in the basement. It was a pretty awesome score since we knew we wanted to finish the basement.
It's a small space so Paul adjusted the layout of the toilet (the hole in the floor), the sink and the shower.
I'm not sure what they were thinking putting in a motor-home type shower down here. It was hideous.

We ditched the shower, moved plumbing and electrical, now we're hanging sheetrock.

Time for tape and mud.
Every once in a while Lana or Tanner would come "help". They only wanted to do the fun stuff (use a hammer or a paint brush, haha!)
I painted the shower with a waterproofing membrane to help reduce (hopefully eliminate) mold behind the tile.
Stuff stinks to high heaven but it was a pretty quick job.
Time for tile and first coat of paint!
Finished shower tile. I love how it turned out! Lesson learned: There is a HUGE difference between ceramic and porcelain tile. Do yourself a favor and stick with ceramic.

We may one day decide to put in a door, but with how little use this shower gets I think we'll just stick with a curtain for now.
