Happy 2nd Birthday Porter!

Our sweet handsome boy turned 2!  I cannot believe it.  Time has just flown, but I guess that's how it feels on all my kiddos birthdays!

Paul took the day off of work and we took Porter to NYC.  What a spoiled little guy haha!

We took the ferry into the city (first time for both of us).  It was so nice!  The inside was comfortable and quiet, but we wanted to see the views, so we made our way to the back.  Good bye New Jersey!

The ferry takes about 45 minutes and goes right under the Verizano Bridge.

We got off the ferry and hopped into a cab to China Town for lunch.  Porter was so good this entire trip.  No crying, no whining.  It's so different traveling with only one kid. (The other two were at school).

Lobster Ravioli, delicous!

Chicken Parm, yum!

And chocolate cheesecake for dessert.

We walked around China Town for a while, bought t shirts for the big kids, and drank smoothies as we walked back to the ferry dock.

Until next time New York.

The Statue of Liberty in the distance.

The ferry docked in NJ.  It was a short trip, but so nice to have Paul off work and do something different!

On Saturday we invited a few friends over for cake and ice cream.  Paul out did himself on the cake!

Porter loved it.

And it was delicious!  Happy Birthday Porter!!!!

Girls trip to NYC

We decided to take a girls trip into the city, our first stop was this amazing BBQ place in Brooklyn.  The macaroni and cheese...amazing.

Afterwards we checked into our hotel which was in upper Manhattan and couple of blocks away from Rockefeller Center.  We headed up to the Top of the Rock for an amazing night views of the city.

The next morning we hopped on the subway (first time!).  It was everything I thought it would be.  Gross, dirty, smelly and full of strangers.

2nd Breakfast.  Vanilla Bean French Toast with a Strawberry Rhubarb soda.

We walked around a bit, wandering through a few flea markets and this is a picture of the Flat Iron Building with a food market.  The smells were mouthwatering.

We stopped for lunch, this one was probably my least favorite meal but still good!

We had a few hours to kill before our Broadway show so we gave our footsies a rest with a pedicure!

Dinner before the show, Shake Shack in Times Square.  My favorite burger joint hands down.  I could eat there every week.

We went and saw "Once".  Loved it!  The music was fabulous.

No supposed to take pictures.  Oops.  Haha.

Before we headed home we stopped by Max Brenner.

I've never seen anything like it before.

We split a S'more's crepe and a Peanut Butter something.  It was all amazing.

And a Mexican Hot Chocolate.  Seriously delicious!

First Day of School

Kind of sad to end the summer but also kind of excited to have a few hours or real quiet time during the day!

Porter was not really happy with the big kids leaving him behind.

Hope it's a good year!

BYU vs. UCONN

Paul took Tanner to the BYU vs UCONN game.  Since Paul was working up in CT that Friday, he took Tanner with him to work.  Tanner then got to spend the day with Grandma and Grandpa while they waited for Paul to be done.

Me, Lana and Porter getting dinner at Applebees.

At the game.

I think a good time was had by all!  Paul even got to see some old friends.

Birthday celebration at Six Flags

It was our friend Chad's birthday and he wanted to go to Six Flags, so we all packed up and headed over for the day.  Above is our caravan of strollers.

Waiting for the sea lion show to start.

Our group. Paul & Porter, Adam & Athena, Tanner, Lana Camille and Saylor.  Chad, Oliver and Kara are on the row in front of us.

I had pics of us on the safari ride, but not sure where they went.

Porter at the YMCA

Normally Porter goes to kids watch while the big kids go to swim lessons but he had a runny nose so he came along.

His favorite part was hiding in the lockers and then opening the doors and slamming them shut.

Hard to get angry at this handsome little guy.

Just one of the many BBQ's we've had with friends over the summer.  We've got a really great group out here!

Picking peaches

We went to go pick peaches with a group of friends.  So neat, we've never been peach picking before!

Porter wanted to drag the bucket of peaches everywhere, but they were to heavy for his bitty arms.

It was a gorgeous day for picking peaches.  Paul made a peach cobbler and I made him some Habanero Peach Jam that he loved.  It sounds gross, but it's actually pretty good.  It tastes just like peach jam (you can't actually taste the habanero pepper), but you get a little bit of heat as after taste.
