Visit to the ER
One of our very fun adventures we had while on vacation was a trip to the local emergency room. Okay maybe not so fun since it was the night of the 4th of July and very late at night. Our usual happy-go-lucky, content as can be, mellow beyond mellow child was screaming and uncosolable Thursday night with a 102 degree fever. After 5 hours of sitting in the ER, tests concluded and results in, thankfully nothing was seriously wrong. Turns out he's a big boy and big boys need 6 times the amount of Tylenol that the manufacturer recommends on the box. Who knew?? I never would've figured that out especially after all the big deals made about overdosing your child on meds you see on the news. Anyway, we learned something new and at least the experience wasn't too bad. We appreciate those Dr.'s and nurses who were there on a holiday who helped us. And we're grateful that we were in and out of there in a reasonable amount of time. Today everyone is happy and healthy and Tanner is back to his happy self (except of course when I suction out his nose, but I can't blame him there).
