Happy New Year!

What would New Years be without fireworks? Some years we had legal ones, sometimes not so legal ones...but the point is, we had fireworks. This year was no exception, but for the record they were all legal. (There are some advantages for living out in the sticks.)


We got together with some friends, ate food and played games. Unfortunately we started the fireworks late (okay let me clarify...late for a sleep deprived person being 8:30pm) and didn't get to light them all. Next year we must remember to start earlier! Anyway, here is a picture of the kids front row seats.




This is Lana being protective of her chair. She couldn't make up her mind whether she wanted to sit by me or by all the other kids and kept dragging her chair in between. She wouldn't even let it go to hold a sparkler.






The funniest part of the evening was the request for "Jumping Paul's" fireworks. Every time Paul lit off the jumping jack fireworks, he'd start jumping around and the kids thought he was hilarious. It was quite the sight, I wish we'd had a video camera.

All in all, it was an excellent holiday. I am sad that it will be a while before we get another excuse to light off fireworks.
